The French Open came to an end just a couple of weeks ago, but it’s already time to start looking ahead toward Wimbledon. Yes, yet another Grand Slam on the tennis calendar is only a week away. Novak Djokovic, who has won each of the first two slams on the men’s side in 2023, is the heavy favorite at the All-England Club. At age 36 Novak Djokovic has made his intentions clear as he is playing for the record books. The Serbian legend has the chance to write more tennis history at Wimbledon beginning on Monday July 3rd . Djokovic won his 23rd Grand Slam earlier this month at Roland-Garros, equaling Serena Williams at that mark A 24th would give him the all-out lead in modern times and also tie the all-time record. His biggest challenger appears to be Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz, who reclaimed the world No.1 ranking last weekend with his first ever grass title when he triumphed at Queen's Club. There are many other competitors in the grass court including top four seeds Daniil Medvedev, Casper Ruud, and runner-up Nick Kyrigos.

Carlos Alcaraz The 20-year-old is making his third singles appearance at Wimbledon after losing in the second round in 2021 and fourth round in 2022. He's coming off a semifinal appearance at the French Open. Lorenzo Musetti (No. 14) and Hubert Hurkacz (No. 17) are the highest-seeded players in Djokovic's section of the bracket. His list of potential quarterfinal opponents includes Andrey Rublev, Félix Auger-Aliassime, Alexander Bublik and Nick Kyrgios. Djokovic hasn't lost at Wimbledon since the 2017 quarterfinals against Tomáš Berdych when he had to retire in the second set due to an elbow injury. He can become the first men's player to win this tournament five consecutive times since Roger Federer did it from 2003 to '07.
