Who Will Make The CFP

Week 10 full of season ending matchups

Good morning,

Letโ€™s dive inโ€ฆ

Developing Stories ๐Ÿ“ฐ

Now, ten weeks into the 2024 college football season, teams nationwide have accumulated enough wins to strengthen their postseason resumes. For those with impressive records, this means a spot in the College Football Playoff (CFP) Top 25 and a potential path to the new 12-team playoff bracket.

In this inaugural year of the expanded format, the four conference champions from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, and SEC will be awarded the top four seeds and receive byes into the Quarterfinals, which will be held at one of the New Year's Six bowl locations. The remaining eight spots will be given to seven at-large selections and the highest-ranked champion from a Group of Five conference.

Top Teams and Current Rankings:

1. Oregon (Big Ten)
The Ducks are one of five undefeated teams and have played the toughest schedule of that group, with notable victories over Ohio State and Boise State. Oregon is on track for the Big Ten title game and could secure the No. 1 overall seed.

8. Indiana (Big Ten)
Under first-year coach Curt Cignetti, Indiana has surprised everyone by staying unbeaten. They share the Big Ten lead with Oregon and control their destiny, including a crucial upcoming game at Ohio State.

Weekend Picks ๐Ÿ”’

LSU +3 | In what looks like a College Football Playoff elimination game, Iโ€™m picking the home team, LSU, to cover the spread. Alabama has struggled on the road this season, with recent losses to Vanderbilt and Tennessee, while LSU boasts one of the top passing attacks and a strong home-field advantage. The Tigersโ€™ efficient offensive line and high-powered passing game, led by Nussmeier, should capitalize on Alabamaโ€™s weaker pass defense.

Duke +3 | Duke, 8-5 against the spread in its last 13 games, faces NC State with a strong defensive edge. The Blue Devils stifled Miamiโ€™s run game and pressured QB Cam Ward, setting up well against a Wolfpack offense plagued by poor blocking and turnovers. NC State's freshman QB Bailey will likely struggle against Dukeโ€™s defense, which ranks near the top nationally in tackles for loss, sacks, and turnovers created

Indiana -14 | Michigan's offense struggles in the air and will face a tough test trying to run against Indianaโ€™s top-ranked run defense. Meanwhile, Michigan has been allowing conference opponents to score over 20 points, while Indiana leads the Big Ten in both yards and points. With a strong track record against shared opponents, Indiana looks poised to dominate and cover the spread.
