The Phillies Are On ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Bryce Harper and the Phillies look to take a 2-0 lead today

Good morning,

Letโ€™s dive inโ€ฆ

Developing Stories ๐Ÿ“ฐ

We are finally in that time of year where we have the Big 4 of sports all playing together at the same time. Its a sport bettors dream. We start with;

Game 1 of the NLCS. The starting pitchers were Zach Wheeler and Yu Darvis. The Philadelphia Phillies won 2-0. Zach Wheeler is pitching the best in his career only giving up one hit in 7 innings. Bryce Harper hit the go ahead home run in the 4th inning and Kyle Schwarber hit an absolute bomb to right field that went 488 feet. It was the longest home run hit in Petco Park.

The NBA season tipped off last night with the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers. It was all about the Celtics who won a 126-117 beat down. It was all about the Jaylon Brown and Jason Tatum show with both players combining for 70 points. The Sixers have some things to cleanup but shouldn't be too discouraged after a single game given all the new additions they're incorporating.

This Thursday Night Football game is the New Orleans Saints and the Arizona Cardinals. I hope I'm not the only one excited for a primetime game that doesn't include Russell Wilson. This game should still be a bore though as both Andy Dalton and Jamies Winston are limited in practice so hybrid QB Taysom Hill could get the start against the struggling Cardinals offense.

Headlines ๐Ÿšจ

Celtics and Warriors win and cover as betting favorites on NBA opening night

Astros face off against the Yankees tonight. Astros first game back after 4 days of rest.

Deandre Hopkins suspension is over. He will return Thursday against the Saints.

Arizona is averaging .5 PPG in the first quarter. They went their first 5 games without scoring a single point in the first. They scored a field goal in the first quarter last week against Philly as that was their only points scored in the first quarter all season. It might be worth a look at playing New Orleans first quarter considering Arizonaโ€™s slow starts and lousy play at home.

Picks ๐Ÿ”’

๐Ÿ€ New York Knicks Over 38.5 wins -110 (2U)

  • This number seems light. The Knicks added Jalen Brunson and extended RJ Barrett in the offseason. I like Obi Toppin as he starts to mature in this league. He will come strong off the bench. The trend for this bet is teams that go 30-40 wins previous season tend to go over in the last 10 seasons. With 37 wins last year I expect them to gain at least two more.

๐Ÿ€ Denver Nuggets +1500 (1u)

  • I like this number at 1500. I have seen it as low as 1200 on other books. This is the best team Nikola Jokic has played for and now is his time to prove why he can be the best player on a championship team. The nuggets have a deep roster with Jamal Murray back from injury and added Kentavious Caldwell Pope at shooting guard. If the Nuggets can stay healthy they can go along way in the playoffs.

โšพ๏ธ Phillies ML F5 -115 (1u)

  • Aaron Nola vs Blake Snell. A pretty fair matchup between two top pitchers. Snell - 2.89 ERA in 11 career postseason starts. Aaron Nola - hasnโ€™t allowed an earned run in 12.2 innings this post season. Aaron Nola has been lights out all season long and heโ€™s gone above and beyond so far this post season. Snell is good but to me it comes down to walk rate. Snell walked 51 batters this season and has walked 8 so far this post season. Nola on the other hand walked only 29 batters this season has only walked 3 batters this post season. The playoffs are tight and runs are hard to come by. I trust Nola and the phillies to stay hot here and be leading this game after 5.
