Week 5 of the NFL season concludes with a conference showdown in Las Vegas as the Green Bay Packers hit the road to take on the Las Vegas Raiders. In their previous matchup on September 28 Green Bay suffered a 34-20 defeat at home against the Detroit Lions failing to cover the 2.5-point underdog line. Las Vegas faced a 24-17 road loss to the Chargers in their last game, pushing the total as seven-point underdogs. Historically, the Packers hold an 8-5 advantage over the Raiders in regular-season meetings, having won the last eight games including a convincing 42-24 victory on October 20, 2019.
Green Bay enters this contest with extra preparation time after their Thursday Night Football loss to Detroit. The Packers now hold a 2-2 season record placing them second in the NFC North trailing the Lions by one game. In their game against Detroit Green Bay initially opened the scoring with a field goal but ended up falling behind 27-3 by halftime. While they managed to close the gap to 27-17 early in the fourth quarter it proved too little too late. The Packers were outgained 401-230 in total offense, yielded 25 first downs while gaining only 15 and lost the time of possession by a margin of 37:58 to 22:02. Green Bay turned the ball over twice while forcing only one takeaway and their third-down conversion rate was a mere three out of 11. Quarterback Jordan Love had a slow start but finished with 23 completions on 36 attempts for 246 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.
So far this season, the Packers rank 19th in passing offense averaging 206.3 yards per game and 30th in rushing offense with an average of 74.5 yards per contest. Their scoring offense ranks 10th, averaging 25 points per game, while their scoring defense is 20th, allowing an average of 24 points per game. Jordan Love has completed 74 of 132 passes for 901 yards with eight touchdown passes and three interceptions. In the rushing department, AJ Dillon leads with 44 carries for 118 yards, while Aaron Jones and Patrick Taylor have contributed as well. Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs are the top receiving options, while Aaron Jones, Luke Musgrave, and Dontayvion Wicks are additional targets. Kicker Anders Carlson has been reliable, making all nine extra point attempts and all five field goal attempts, with a long of 52 yards.
As for the Raiders, they are currently on a three-game losing streak, dropping their record to 1-3 for the season. They share the bottom of the AFC West standings with Denver, although they did secure a victory against the Broncos in Week 1. In their recent game against the Chargers, Las Vegas remained competitive in the first quarter but was outscored 17-0 in the second, resulting in a 24-7 halftime deficit. Despite their efforts, the Raiders couldn't narrow the gap to less than seven points for the rest of the game. In terms of statistics, Las Vegas was outgained 305-264 in total offense, won the first down battle 22-16, and controlled the clock for 32 minutes and 51 seconds compared to the Chargers' 27 minutes and 9 seconds. However, the Raiders turned the ball over three times and forced only one takeaway. Rookie QB Aidan O'Connell made his debut for an injured Jimmy Garoppolo, completing 24 of 39 passes for 238 yards, with no touchdowns and one interception.

Picks 🔒

Packers +105 | Both teams have played questionable games, but Garropolo is still questionable this game. The Packers have the better team and it’s tough to trust the Raiders as they struggle on both sides of the ball.
