The New All Time Scoring Champion
LeBron passes Kareem for all time scoring leader
Good morning,
Letโs dive inโฆ
Developing Stories ๐ฐ

It took almost four decades, but the NBA has a new all-time scoring champion. Abdul-Jabbar's record had stood since April 5, 1984. James, 38, was born about nine months later. Abdul-Jabbar made only one 3-pointer in his career. Averaging 24.6 points in his 20. James has evolved along with the league, ranking No. 9 on the all-time 3s list and averaging 27.2 points in his 20 seasons. He entered the game needing 36 points to overtake Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. James record breaking shot was fadeaway jumper with 10.9 seconds left in the third quarter. He finished the night with 38 points 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. The game came to a halt to celebrate a record that was thought to never be broken. James hugged his wife; mother and three children then proceeded a brief ceremony with Commissioner Adam Silver and Abdul-Jabbar. Jabbar held the game ball and handed it to James with a passing the torch moment. James thanked his family including Silver and late NBA commissioner David Stern. "I thank you guys so much for allowing me to be a part of something I've always dreamed about," James said. The four-time champion and four-time MVP continues to add to his legacy. Ranking fourth in career assists, ninth in steals, thirty-second in rebounds and ninety-first in blocks. James has had a national spotlight on him since he was a teenager, and his basketball career has played out as expected. As the youngest player in the NBA to reach each one-thousand-point milestone from 1,000 to 38,000, James is also the oldest player to ever average 30 points per game. With 38 games left and potentially extra games with the Lakers making the playoffs we could see Lebron break the 40,000 point barrier, which should be a record thatโs never broken.

Picks ๐

Mackenzie Mcdonald +150 | McDonald holds the 4-2 head-to-head advantage. He has improved his consistency over the past 18 months. McDonald is in top form right now coming off a career best win against Rafael Nadal.
Florida +10 | The Gators are ranked 18th defensively among D1 teams in points allowed per possession. They have allowed 68 points or fewer in 15 of their last 18 games while having an above-average tempo. The main goal for them is to limit Alabamaโs 3 pointers.
WVU -3.5 | This play is more of a fade of ISU - theyโre coming off a huge win against Kansas. ISU is very prone to fouling and turnovers. I expect WVU to come out and play tough and apply pressure at home; and its likely ISU comes in lazy after still celebrating the big win over KU.
Morikawa +1800 to win the Phoenix open | Heโs back to his top-notch ball-striking ways as he gained over 10 strokes ball striking at the Farmers Insurance Open which helped him finish in third place. He would have contended here in 2020 if he had putt like he has been lately. Morikawa has no problem showing up when the lights are the brightest and this week they will all be shining in the Scottsdale area.
