Will The Chiefs Remain Undefeated?
The Saints head to Arrowhead for MNF
Good morning,
Let’s dive in…
Developing Stories 📰

The New Orleans Saints started the season strong, scoring 47 points in their first game against the Panthers and 44 against the Cowboys in their second game. They seemed like a surprise team but then lost their last two games. In their latest match, the Saints had the lead until the final two seconds when the Falcons kicked a 58-yard field goal after quickly moving 30 yards. Taysom Hill scored two rushing touchdowns for the Saints in that game.
Head coach Dennis Allen was frustrated after the loss, saying, “Those are the kinds of losses that rip your heart out. We have a good team, but we need to play better. We can't give a good team a 14-point lead and expect to win.” Derek Carr is averaging 206 passing yards per game with a 72% completion rate and a 6-3 touchdown-to-interception ratio. He threw for 239 yards against Atlanta but did not score and threw an interception. Alvin Kamara is the main offensive player, with 362 rushing yards and 174 receiving yards, leading the team with seven total touchdowns. His best game was against Dallas, where he had 115 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Chris Olave has 20 catches for 265 yards as the top wide receiver, while Rashid Shaheed has 252 yards on 15 receptions.
The Saints lead the NFL in scoring with 31.8 points per game and have the sixth-best defense, allowing 17.5 points per game. Demario Davis is a key defensive player but is questionable for the next game due to a hamstring injury. Tyrann Mathieu, a safety, has two of the team’s six interceptions and 16 tackles. Carl Granderson leads in sacks with three, while cornerback Alontae Taylor tops the team with 3.5 sacks from corner blitzes.
As for the rest of the league, only two teams remain undefeated as they head into Week 5: the Kansas City Chiefs and the Minnesota Vikings. The Chiefs, the two-time defending champions, have won all four games but by seven points or fewer. They are dealing with injuries, with Isiah Pacheco and Rashee Rice on the injured reserve, and Mecole Hardman and Kareem Hunt listed as questionable. Last week, they defeated the Chargers by seven points, with Travis Kelce having a standout game, catching 89 yards on nine catches.
Patrick Mahomes is in his 8th NFL season and has three Super Bowl MVP awards. He is averaging 226 yards per game with a 68.6% completion rate and a 6-5 touchdown-to-interception ratio, throwing at least one interception in each game this season. Carson Steele might have an increased role, with 105 yards from 3.8 yards per carry, but if Kareem Hunt is available, he will likely start after running for 69 yards last week against the Chargers. With Rashee Rice out, Xavier Worthy is now the top receiver, already making an impact in just his fifth game with 154 yards and two touchdowns. Travis Kelce has caught 14 passes for 158 yards but has yet to score.

Picks 🔒

Saints +5.5 | The Chiefs are undefeated but are often involved in close game. Although many view the Chiefs as having a strong offense led by Patrick Mahomes, the Saints actually have the top scoring offense while the Chiefs rank 14th. Mahomes has struggled this season with just six touchdowns and five interceptions, largely due to missing key players. While Chris Jones is an effective pass rusher, the Saints can effectively use screen passes with Alvin Kamara, who excels in both rushing and receiving which creates opportunities for Derek Carr and his receivers.
