Myrtle Beach Bowl: Georgia Southern (6-6) vs. Ohio (9-3), 11 a.m. ET

Let's kick off with a game influenced by transfers, shall we? In the regular season, I would have easily favored Ohio. However, quarterback Kurtis Rourke, along with top running backs Sieh Bangura and O'Shaan Allison, key receivers Miles Cross and Tyler Walton, and All-MAC linebacker Keye Thompson have all entered the transfer portal.

Prediction: Georgia Southern wins

New Orleans Bowl: Jacksonville State (8-4) vs. Louisiana (6-6), 2:15 p.m. ET

After an impressive three-year run, Louisiana has faced a recent dip, particularly in the second half of the 2023 campaign. Jacksonville State, on the other hand, aims to conclude its debut FBS season with a notable nine-win record. In a clash of contrasting styles, Rich Rodriguez's fast-paced philosophy prevails.

Prediction: Jacksonville State wins

Cure Bowl: Miami (Ohio) (11-2) vs. Appalachian State (8-5), 3:30 p.m. ET

Following a season-ending leg injury to Miami quarterback Brett Gabbert, Aveon Smith led the RedHawks to an impressive MAC title. However, with Smith's decision to transfer, Miami faces challenges. Despite Appalachian State's flawed defense, they should be able to contain a third-string quarterback.

Prediction: Appalachian State wins

New Mexico Bowl: New Mexico State (10-4) vs. Fresno State (8-4), 5:45 p.m. ET

Fresno State's once-promising season lost its luster with late losses to San Jose State, New Mexico, and San Diego State. While hoping for the September version of the team to reappear may be wishful thinking, the contrasting defensive performances make this matchup interesting. New Mexico State secures a second victory in Albuquerque this year.

Prediction: NMSU wins

LA Bowl: UCLA (7-5) vs. Boise State (8-5), 7:30 p.m. ET

Like Miami, Boise State faced a setback losing Maddux Madsen to injury, won a Mountain West title with Taylen Green, and subsequently lost him to transfer. Bowl season arrives with UCLA slumping down the stretch—except for a notable win over USC. Despite Boise State's strong finish, relying on a true freshman third-stringer seems too much of a risk.

Prediction: UCLA wins

Independence Bowl: Cal (6-6) vs. Texas Tech (6-6), 9:15 p.m. ET

Cal's offensive coordinator Jake Spavital departing for Baylor adds another variable to an already inconsistent scoring attack. This inclination pushes me toward Texas Tech, which performed well defensively in November, excluding a challenging trip to playoff-bound Texas.

Prediction: Texas Tech wins

NMSU -3.5 | The Bulldogs won’t have their HC Tedford and they don’t have too much depth on their team. NMSU has been consistent all season and played close against Liberty right until the end of the CUSA title game. They have enough play makers to get the job done here.

Texas Tech -3 | The Raiders look better on paper here. The loss of Techs top receiver wont matter as they have a solid core.

Bills -2 | Bills have an advantage being at home. They are in the playoff race after beating the Chiefs, so this is a crucial game for them to win.

Falcons -3 | Both teams have been unpredictable, but the Panthers are worst teams in the NFL. The Falcons are technically still eyeing the playoffs so were going to back them here.
