Falcons at Eagles
Good morning,
Let’s dive in…
Developing Stories 📰

The Atlanta Falcons (0-1) will look to secure their first win of the season as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) in this week’s Monday Night Football matchup. The game will take place at Lincoln Financial Field with a scheduled kickoff at 8:15 PM ET.
The Falcons are coming off a disappointing 18-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, where they were four-point favorites. Meanwhile, the Eagles are riding high after a 34-29 victory over the Green Bay Packers, covering the spread as two-point favorites. Atlanta entered the season with high hopes, thanks in part to the acquisition of quarterback Kirk Cousins, but the Raheem Morris era started on a sour note with the home defeat to Pittsburgh. They’ll be looking to avoid an 0-2 start by upsetting the Eagles on Monday night.
In their opener, Atlanta managed only 10 points, with 137 passing yards and 89 rushing yards. Cousins completed 62 percent of his passes, throwing for 155 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Running back Bijan Robinson carried the ball 18 times for 68 yards, while wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud III had four receptions for 52 yards.
Defensively, the Falcons allowed just 18 points in their opener, showing solid effort despite the loss. They'll need another strong performance on defense to give themselves a chance to win against a potent Eagles offense.
The Eagles, on the other hand, needed a second-half surge to edge past the Packers but managed to pull off the win. They’ll be playing in front of their home crowd for the first time this season and aim to improve to 2-0. Philadelphia racked up 34 points in their opener, accumulating 268 passing yards and 144 rushing yards.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts completed 59 percent of his passes for 278 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions, while also adding 33 rushing yards on 13 carries. New addition Saquon Barkley made an immediate impact, rushing 24 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns, and catching two passes for 23 yards and another score. Wide receiver A.J. Brown also had a big game, catching five passes for 119 yards and a touchdown. Philadelphia's defense allowed 29 points to the Packers and will need to tighten up to secure back-to-back wins.

Picks 🔒

Eagles -5.5 | The Eagles showed strong offensive play in their first game, moving the ball effectively both in the air and on the ground. Meanwhile, the Falcons defense held the Steelers to a low score, but Pittsburgh’s offense isn’t known for being high-scoring. Atlanta struggled against the pass, allowing Justin Fields, not typically an accurate passer, to complete 74 percent of his throws. Facing a more dangerous Eagles offense with talented receivers and a versatile running back, the Falcons defense is likely to struggle.
