MNF Jaguars at Bills
AFC Matchup
Good morning,
Let’s dive in…
Developing Stories 📰

The first of two Monday Night Football games is between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills. The Jaguars are 0-2 this season and lost 18-13 at home to the Browns last week, despite being favored to win. Meanwhile, the Bills are 2-0, coming off a big 31-10 win over the Dolphins last Thursday. Buffalo is favored by 5 points for this game, which starts at 7:30 PM EST at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York, and will air on ESPN.
The Jaguars have had a rough start to the season, losing both their games to the Dolphins and Browns. After this game, they’ll head to Houston for Week 4 to face the Texans. Last week, their quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw for 220 yards but didn’t manage a touchdown and completed just 46.7% of his passes. The team is under pressure to improve, with Lawrence needing to step up in his fourth year as a pro. So far, he has 382 passing yards, one touchdown, no interceptions, and has completed only 51% of his passes. His main target has been rookie Brian Thomas Jr., who has six catches for 141 yards and one touchdown. Running back Travis Etienne Jr. has had decent performances, with 44 yards against the Dolphins and 52 against the Browns, along with a touchdown in each game.
Defensively, the Jaguars are giving up 19 points per game. Linebacker Foyesade Oluokun leads the team with 19 tackles, and pass rusher Travon Walker has two sacks. However, the team has yet to make an interception.
On the other hand, the Bills are off to a strong start, winning both of their games and scoring over 30 points in each. ESPN ranks them as the second-best team in the league, behind only the Kansas City Chiefs. In Week 2, Buffalo crushed the Dolphins by 21 points. Running back James Cook had a standout game with three touchdowns by halftime and has totaled 149 rushing yards and 49 receiving yards so far this season. The team’s success largely depends on quarterback Josh Allen, who has 371 passing yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. He has completed 73.8% of his passes and been sacked just twice. Khalil Shakir, with eight catches for 96 yards and a touchdown, has become Allen’s top target this season.
Buffalo's defense has also been solid, allowing just 19 points per game. Linebacker Dorian Williams has 19 tackles, while Greg Rousseau has three sacks and a forced fumble. Veteran pass rusher Von Miller has added two sacks, and cornerback Ja'Marcus Ingram made two interceptions against Miami, returning one for a 56-yard touchdown.

Picks 🔒

Commanders/Bengals UNDER 46 | The Commanders will focus on running the ball early to help set up passes for Daniels later. The Bengals struggle to stop the run due to injuries, but they’re strong against the pass, allowing only one play over 20 yards this season. The Commanders' offense ranks low, and Daniels doesn’t throw deep often, so the Bengals' defense will be tough to beat. On the Bengals' side, Higgins might miss the game, and even if he plays, he may not be fully ready. Cincinnati's offense is average overall and relies heavily on passing because their running game is weak.
Bills -5 | Buffalo has a big edge on offense, with their passing game set to dominate a weak Jaguars secondary. They’re likely to win easily as they prepare for a major Sunday night game against the Ravens next week.
