The Kansas City Chiefs are Super Bowl champions for the second time in four years after an exciting comeback win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 57. Besides a controversial holding call that basically ended the game it was a shootout between the two teams. The Eagles had the lead 21-14 at half, but The Chiefs outscored the Eagles 24-11 in the second half to win the Lombardi Trophy again. Mahomes went 21-27 for 182 yards, 3 TD’s and 0 interceptions, finishing the game with a clutch throw and 0 turnover worthy plays. Mahomes had 44 yards rushing and moved the chains twice in his 6 attempts. Jalen Hurts had the game of his career going 28-39 with 310 yards and 1 passing touchdown, adding 70 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns in 15 attempts. Kansas City went up 35-27 after an amazing punt return by Kadarius Tony that set up a Skyy Moore touchdown, but Philadelphia quickly answered. Jalen Hurts found DeVonta Smith for a game-changing catch and quickly took it in himself to tie the game. The Eagles left 5:15 on the clock, and the Chiefs used all but eight seconds of it to take the lead. Kansas City moved down the field and into field goal range. Just when the Eagles had a to force a field goal with plenty of time left, a defensive holding penalty came in on James Bradberry and allowed Kansas City to run the clock all the way down to eight seconds. Harrison Butker drilled a 27-yard field goal, and the Chiefs walked off the field as champions once again. This game deserved one final drive and it’s a shame that holding was the reason why. Congratulations to the Chiefs on their Super Bowl victory.
