Can Seattle Get Their First Win Against Vegas

Week 3 of the XFL begins with the Seattle Sea Dragons at the Vegas Vipers. The Sea Dragons probably should be 2-0 but have blown second half leads in both games. The Vipers have also blown two first half leads as well. This game is very unpredictable, the Vipers might be making a quarterback change as Bret Hundley took over for Luis Perez last week completing 11 passes out of 18 for 98 yards. Ben DiNucci and the Sea Dragons are the best 0-2 team in the league, so we are going to lean towards the Sea Dragons covering the spread this weekend.

The Battlehawks' first two weeks have been won by game winning drives led by QB AJ McCarron. He drove 50 yards followed by Donny Hageman 44-yard field goal as time expired to defeat the Sea Dragons 20-18. They have scored 32 of their 38 points during the second half this season. The Defender’s defense is holding teams to 12 PPG, a league best. I think the top factor in this week's matchup is that the Defenders are playing at home. We lean towards them keeping the perfect record alive.

Orlando has been the worst team in the XFL and doesn’t have any signs of life on either side of the ball. The Renegades should easily win this game, with their defense looking to bounce back after losing to Houston last week. If Dallas' defense can cause a couple of turnovers, then QB Drew Plitt should have to play average for them to win this game.  The Renegades cover this large spread at home, and we don’t see how Orlando will have a chance.

In the final game for Week 3, we have the Brahmas and the Roughnecks. Houston was in trouble last week against the Renegades giving Dallas a three-point halftime lead. The Roughnecks outscored the Renegades 12-0 in the second half to stay undefeated San Antonio could not get their ground attack going but was able pass the ball which is a good sign heading into Week 3. At 4 points, we feel comfortable with Wade Phillips’ Roughnecks, who are a dominant team and a contender to win it all.
