AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Good morning,
Let’s dive in…
Developing Stories 📰

The PGA Tour embarks on an eight-hour journey northward from Torrey Pines to the picturesque Pebble Beach, nestled along the breathtaking Monterey coastline, for the 83rd edition of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Unlike last year's tournament, which lacked star power with only seven of the top 50 players in the world rankings, this year's event boasts a formidable lineup of the PGA's top professionals, marking it as the second Signature Event of 2024 following the Sentry Tournament of Champions.
The 2024 PGA Tour schedule highlights eight Signature Events, each boasting a substantial prize pool of $20 million and a winner's purse of $3.6 million. Notable among the changes for this year's Pebble Beach Pro-Am is the reduction from three courses to two in the rotation. The invitational field capped at 80 players with no cut, showcases 49 of the top 50 finishers from the previous year's FedEx Cup points list, with only Jon Rahm notably absent due to his affiliation with LIV Golf.
The tournament unfolds over the legendary Pebble Beach and Spy Glass Hill courses, both renowned for their Poa annua greens and a blend of Ryegrass/Poa fairways and rough. Pebble Beach retains its status as one of the world's most iconic links courses, where coastal winds frequently come into play, especially off the ocean. A chilly and damp winter leading up to the event persists, with rain forecasted for Wednesday, prompting the closure of the course to the public during practice rounds for safety reasons. Thursday and Friday's outlook includes a 50% chance of precipitation, while Sunday anticipates over 80% probability of rain, coupled with leaders braving 20-30 mph winds. These weather conditions should be factored in while observing and engaging in the tournament's proceedings.
Navigating Pebble Beach involves contending with a total of 116 sand bunkers, almost double the count at Spyglass Hill (62), which also features four holes with water hazards. Success on these courses hinges on strategic course management and precision approach play from within 150 yards. Pebble Beach notably yields one of the lowest Greens in Regulation percentages on Tour, underscoring the importance of adept scrambling and proficiency around the greens for contenders vying for victory.

AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Picks 🔒

Purdue -13 | Purdue is 10-5 ATS when facing winning teams. The Boilermakers should be able to have an edge on rebounding and getting to the foul line. This should add up and allow them to blowout the wildcats.
Georgia +6.5 | The Bulldogs play great defense especially on the perimeter which should force Alabama to have some near proximity shots which should allow the Dawgs to keep this one close.
Spurs +185 | The Spurs are slowly showing signs of improvements. They are 3-3 in their last 6 home games and The Magic are 9-16 away and lost 5 out of their last 6 road games while averaging 100.6 ppg in their previous 9.
