2022 NCAAF Bowl Week Begins

Developing Stories 📰

Bowl season is upon us- starting this morning with Miami-Ohio vs UAB at 10:30 AM CT and UTSA vs Troy at 2:00 PM CT. Any time you can fade the MAC bowl games you should do so. UAB is playing for coach Bryant Vincent who will be coaching his last game despite the wishes of the team. there will be no RB DeWayne McBride and he leads the nation in rushing. I still think this should be an easy one for the Blazers. LEAN UAB -11

UTSA vs Troy:

QB Frank Harris is back for the UTSA bowl game and he had a phenomenal season. This is one of the best bowl matchup's of the season. We have the Conference-USA champion against the Sun Belt Champion. LEAN Troy +2.5

Louisville vs Cincinnati:

Cincinnati HC Luke Fickell is gone and they hired Louisville head coach Scott Satterfield. Louisville star QB Malik Cunningham and RB Tiyon Evans will both be out for the Cardinals while JQ Hardaway and Tyler Scott are out for the bearcats. This game will be played in Fenway Park which should be interesting with how the fields shape is designed. This game is a coin flip and I choose heads. LEAN Cincinnati +2

Florida vs Oregon State:

Florida is just always going to be in a bowl game that’s just outside the New Years Six. They have some top players sitting out starting with QB Anthony Richardson. Transfer QB Jack Miller will get the starting job. Miller doesn’t have a single pass attempt this season. Oregon State is looking to punish the Gators on a season where they over achieved. Washington State vs. Fresno State:

Washington State is missing their two top receivers and their defensive coordinator in this one. Fresno State has had a solid season for their standards and shouldn’t be messed with. It all comes down to who wants this win more. In that case, LEAN Fresno State -4

Rice vs. Southern Miss:

I think Rice lucked out playing in this bowl game. In my opinion no five win team should ever make a bowl game, especially Rice. They have all sorts of questionable players with their QB’s and WR’s. Southern Miss is a team who played hard and earned their spot. Rice doesn’t do anything excellent and they’re specifically bad against the run…. Southern Miss is a run-exclusive team. LEAN Southern Miss -6.5

SMU vs. BYU:

This matchup opened up as the highest Over/Under total at 71.5 and it came crashing down following the rumor that BYU QB Jarren Hall was not going to be healthy enough to play and SMU star Rashee Rice is sitting out. Regardless neither team has much of a defense. If Hall sits BYU will have to look a at third string starter. LEAN SMU -4

Final game of the weekend we have North Texas vs. Boise State:

This game features the biggest age gap between QB in bowl history. UNT QB Austin Aune is 29 and Boise QB Taylen Green is 19. Green has turned the Broncos offense around and they average 34 point per game. UNT fired head coach Seth Litrell after the C-USA Championship game and this was surprising. I’m going to LEAN Boise state -10.5
